Lead Pages – what they are and why you need them!
Lead Pages are a special kind of web page that are designed to do one thing only… to capture the name and email address (and sometimes other details too) of people who express an interest in a specific product, service or subject matter.
Most lead pages offer an incentive (like a download), which compels the visitor to voluntarily enter their name and e-mail address into a form and click a ‘Submit’ button.
Because lead pages only do one thing, they can achieve very high conversion rates – which is the percentage of people who submit their details versus the total amount of people who visit the page.
In other words, if 100 people visit a web page and 50 of them enter their name and email address to request the free information – that’s a 50% conversion rate. It’s simple math.
I frequently run print adverts to send prospects to my lead pages (I’ve got lots of them).
My best performing lead pages consistently achieve more than 60% conversion rate – which is staggeringly high. (Many websites struggle to achieve even a 3% conversion rate!!)
If you sell professional services of any kind, or sell expensive products or services of any kind, then chances are you’ll massively benefit from having one or more well designed lead pages.
Lead Pages are one of the fastest ways I know to build a large list of e-mail subscribers and hot prospects who you can then follow-up and sell to.
